Radio Talks.
On Friday, April 18th 2014, we met and had a talk with German children, all working for Radiojojo radio.
Friday was the day we had planned on participating in a radio talk with the German kids from Radiojojo.
At 1 pm sharp, it started.
First, our German friends asked us questions about the origins of the Lille and why we often used the word Flanders with it.
The French tudents mentioned the fact that Lille hadn't been French for so long and once belonged to the Belgian region of Flanders.
The German pupils also wanted to know how close the students felt to Europe and what they did to protect the environment.
They agreed that the fact of having removed the frontiers and also of using the same currency added to the European feelings.
The French students also asked about the number of different countries they had already interviewed and the number was staggering: among other, the USA, Chile, Trinidad, Morrocco, Tunisia...
The young girl with the pink sweater (see below) spoke English brilliantly and managed to translate all the questions and all the answers.
We exchanged both in English and in German which was really an enriching experience.
It's not always easy to break cultural barriers and to keep the conversation going, but the younger German pupils managed to do it having their questions well prepared.

We also sang songs, Karolin sang the beautiful German national anthem and to break the ice, after chatting for 50 minutes, students decided to go for a dance, and there we were, dancing the macarena.
This is definitely something we would like to have at school as well, this was really inspiring, thank you to Thomas Roehlinger and all the members of Radiojojo.
